When the weather starts to get warmer, there is no better way to celebrate than spending time outside in nature. Abbotsford is home to many beautiful trails and parks that are great for everything from mountain biking, to hikes, to strolls in the sunshine with family and friends.Â
While you prepare to spend time in and around nature, it is important to keep in mind ways in which you can be a responsible trail trekker as you explore Abbotsford’s local parks and trails.
Here are five tips based off of Abbotsford Parks and Recreation, and BC Parks!
Stay on the Trail! This protects both you, the soil, and the wildlife.
Leave it where you found it! Never remove wildlife or plants from their respective areas.
Pack out your garbage! Not only is litter harmful for the environment, but it attracts wildlife putting both animals and humans in danger.
Let the animals be! Don’t approach animals you see in the wild—let them enjoy their own home. You’re the guest, not them.Â
Everyone deserves to enjoy nature! Be kind to one another on the trail.
With these tips in mind, here are some great local places for you to get out and explore responsibly!
