Grande Juste, a 19th-century former convent in the Notre-Dame-du-Mont district of Marseille, will open its doors in July 2025. The property marks the brand’s second address after its launch in 2023 with Maison Juste.
Following 14 months of renovation, Grande Juste – which straddles Marseille’s 5th and 6th arrondissements – spans three distinct buildings with 50 rooms, including six with private terraces.
Renovation works were entrusted to Marseille-based general contractor Pivot Panda, with architectural redesign by the Marseille-Colombian duo Marie Imbert and Daniela Montes. As well as showcasing local craftsmanship and talent, the hotel’s commitment to sustainability is demonstrated thought its Clé Verte certification.
Crafted for slow living, Grande Juste features large communal spaces with a lounge, a library of books and vinyls, a south-facing garden, a shaded patio, rooms without TVs and vintage finds by the owners, resulting in an atmosphere that is designed to contrast the vibrant Notre-Dame-du-Mont.
Despite having no formal restaurant, the hotel features a professional kitchen serving homemade breakfasts until 1pm, and the space can host a private chef for groups of at least ten.
The hotel offers additional touches such as fully digital smartphone access, ‘smart corners’ on each floor comprising kitchenettes and self-service supplies, digital luggage storage and a bathroom accessible even after check-out.
As the second Juste property, Grande Juste builds upon the success of Maison Juste, and aligns with the brand’s four pillars of alternative hospitality: essentials, people, local, and responsibility. New openings are slated for 2027 and 2028 in Bordeaux, Nantes and Lille, with a goal to have 250 rooms open or in the pipeline by 2028.
