A family beach day is the perfect getaway to make memories for life! Mont-Habitant beach in Saint-Sauveur is ready to welcome you every day with a lifeguard on duty for hours of fun in the water. Pedal boats, kayaks, and SUPs are available for rent. In Sainte-Adèle, head to Jean-Guy-Caron beach at Lac Rond, a small, intimate, and supervised beach that is popular with families thanks to its stunning surroundings and water quality. A brand new beach chalet opened this year! In Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Sables Lake is accessible via Major beach. On site are a supervised swimming area, picnic tables, a children’s park, a beach volleyball court, and much more for a memorable day!  Finally, in Mont-Tremblant, the Raynaud Lake beach in Domaine Saint-Bernard is the perfect place to cool off. On the shores of the calm waters of Deux Montagnes Lake, the beach at Parc national d’Oka is perfect for a day with family or friends. Under the supervision of the lifeguards, come and play in the water or rent water equipment, and don’t forget your picnic! Note that this beach is accessible to persons with reduced mobility. Surrounded by mountains, Crémaillère beach at Parc national du Mont-Tremblant is the perfect place to go swimming or canoeing after a day of activity in the outdoors. With its sandy banks, Parc régional Kiamika in Rivière-Rouge offers peaceful beaches with clear water that are perfect for relaxing and cooling off. Your canine companion can even tag along on a leash. Bring your boat for more fun! In Notre-Dame-du-Laus, the beach in the Rapide sector of Parc régional du Poisson Blanc is open to everyone, even your furry friend. Take a break and relax on the shores of a lake, both feet in the sand. Did you know that Gratton beach in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard is accessible to all, free of charge? Come and breathe in the fresh air and soak in the beauty of Saint-Joseph Lake in the summer! In Val-Morin, Raymond Lake beach is located on the shores of the P’tit Train du Nord, making for the perfect break after a delightful bike ride. Bring a picnic or a good book to relax! The Beach and Tennis Club at Tremblant Lake is about more than just swimming: it’s a beach bar, a snack bar, a shop, and tennis courts for a day of fun under the sun. Meanwhile, chairs and umbrellas provide additional comfort. In Tremblant Resort, after a day of family activities, fun and relaxation await at Parc plage. A lifeguard is on duty at all times. Children can build sandcastles while parents relax, soaking up the view.

Let the beaches in the Upper Laurentians surprise you

Further north, discover the amazing places to swim hidden across the territory. In Rivière-Rouge, Michel-Jr.-Lévesque beach is a lovely, unsupervised, sandy beach on the shores of the incredible Tibériade Lake, with free admission. Located next to Camping Sainte-Véronique, this beach is perfect for the entire family. Further north, in Nominingue, the municipal beach on the shores of Grand lac Nominingue is the perfect place to spend quality time with family or friends. This beach is safe, and supervision is provided by a qualified lifeguard. Next, in Mont-Laurier, the municipal beach at Sources Lake is free and comes with playsets, a slide, and a volleyball court to make the most of the sun and beautiful summer days. Leave the beaten path and discover new beaches in the region!

Swimming with your pup

Yes, you can swim with your dog! First, at Camping Domaine des Cèdres in Brébeuf, where dogs are welcome in the dog-friendly section of the beach. There’s also a dog park for them to burn off any extra energy! Everyone can enjoy cooling off on the shores of the superb Rouge River on hot summer days. The beach at Camping Mer Bleue in L’Ascension is open to all, while dogs get their own reserved section so that they can swim and play with you. For its part, Camping Fou du Roi in Rivière-Rouge accepts dogs anywhere on the campground and the beach, as long as they are leashed. Lastly, the beach at Auberge de la Gatineau on Baskatong Reservoir is open to all and welcomes dogs on leashes while you swim. Naturally, wherever your dog goes, the above businesses ask that you be respectful of other patrons and cleanliness standards.

Beaches at campgrounds

Even without camping, some campgrounds in the region are happy to provide the location for your next swimming outing. At Camping Lac Lafontaine in Saint-Jérôme, you can enjoy the beach and water games to cool off during hot summer days. A snack bar and an ice cream bar are also open to everyone. Camping du Domaine Lausanne in Ivry-sur-le-Lac is characterized by the mountains surrounding its natural lake. The beach is accessible to all, and, with kayak and pedal boat rentals, there’s everything you need to enjoy all the lake has to offer. Meanwhile, Camping Union – Lac-du-Cerf has a fine sandy beach along 300 feet of the Petit lac du Cerf, a prime location in a quiet bay. Find the perfect balance between downtime and family fun.
