Africa’s first medical concierge service launched

Infinity Medical Concierge for Travellers works alongside a person’s travel insurance to coordinate their care in South Africa. While travel insurance offers financial cover, global insurance services are often not equipped to ensure members see doctors with the best track records or ensure that medical history is taken into account in an emergency. The Infinity Medical Concierge membership begins on the traveller’s first day in South Africa and ends on their date of departure.
The concierge service – which offers access to a network of curated peer-reviewed specialists in South Africa – was founded by specialist physician Dr David Adler and general surgeon Dr Martin Lebos, who are both based in Johannesburg.
While Infinity Medical Concierge’s primary service is long-term membership in which a member’s health is proactively managed, it also offers a temporary membership for travellers to South Africa who are looking for peace of mind when they travel.
“Travel is an extraordinary privilege and many people plan meticulously to ensure they’re booking the best experience possible to make the best memories. But what if you or a member of your family falls ill while on holiday? In an emergency, you often have no idea who to call and how to ensure you’re being seen by doctors with strong track records.
“We collect a traveller’s medical history before they travel so our concierge desk can customise their care should they need it,” says Dr Adler. “This is all available, to both the travellers and their doctor, in an emergency, via a mobile app.
“So, for instance, should a person collapse while on holiday, a call to the concierge desk sets into motion a coordinated effort aimed at ensuring they’re taken to the best available facility and seen to by the most appropriate specialist.
“Our concierge desk keeps family members updated every step of the way, and will also coordinate follow-up appointments if necessary.
“What we’re offering is peace of mind, so that you can enjoy that hard-earned vacation knowing that should something happen, you and your family will be well looked after,” says Dr Adler.
Like a hotel concierge, the Infinity Medical Concierge is available 24/7 to help travellers with any medical questions they may have and is able to coordinate a tele-health consult, assist with script requests or get up an appointment with world-class South African specialists.
